Lately, I have been hearing a lot about global warming (now climate change) and the assumption that it is human caused. To date, there has been no testing of that assumption. There is no reason to conclude that climate change is not simply a natural phenomenon.

This is not to say that I don't think we should conserve resources. We should. If we continue to consume energy and other resources more quickly than they are replenished by nature, we are going to exhaust our reserves. I am greatly concerned that people will reduce consumption -- for a while -- on the basis of global warming. If the global warming continues they are likely to resume over-consumption. They will also become unlikely to listen to other reasons why they should reduce consumption as they will consider themselves already fooled once.
