It appears that several people have ideas on how to defeat the insurgency in Iraq.  You know, the one that was "in its last throes" four years ago.  The only way anyone would ever "defeat" this insurgency would be to level the entire region.  Let's face a little reality here.  Iraq has a resistance movement.  It is impossible to stop a resistance movement short of eradicating the entire population.

McCain is rolling out his "Straight Talk Express" again.  In 2000, I may well have voted for him.  Today, I know he has hard-liner credentials.  Straight Talk would be to tell the people that he just doesn't care about them.  I wish he would do us all a favor and retire.
